Advice to follow when preparing your property for a virtual reality capture:
Make sure that your property is as clean as possible. Hire a professional if needed. This makes the biggest difference between a stunning presentation and an unattractive one.
Kitchen countertops and shelves should be clear of objects. Remove soaps and cosmetics, shampoo bottles from shower, replace used towels with fresh ones in the bathroom. Bedroom nightstands should be free of personal items.
If you have a large number of family photographs, it is wise to put them away during photography. Religious iconography should also be removed. Whilst these are the items that make a home unique and personal to you, you want the viewer to imagine the space as their home and not yours.
When the photographer arrives and working onsite:
The photographer will want to move freely throughout. To respect privacy, doors that are not open are areas that will not be photographed.
Making the property as bright and airy as possible will provide the best results and eliminate shadows.
A pet walking unnoticed through a room when the camera is working can spoil a virtual tour. They will appear and disappear when the images are stitched together.
Most important is to stay out of the camera view while shooting is in progress!
